WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump was distracted by Vice President JD Vance’s socks while meeting with Irish Prime Minister Micheal Martin in the White House on Wednesday, March 12, reported the Daily Beast.
As a result of his habit of wearing undersized pants that go up his shins when he is seated, the socks were clearly visible and caught the POTUS’s attention when he was about to speak on the subject of inflation.

While addressing reporters during the meeting, Trump pivoted the conversation to Vance’s socks out of the blue, much to the amusement of everyone present.
“By the way, I have to just speak of inflation,” said the 78-year-old commander-in-chief, before looking down and commenting, “I love your socks. What’s with these socks?”
As Vance heartily laughed being complimented over his choice of accessory, Trump added, “I’m trying to stay focused, but I’m very impressed with the VP’s (socks).”
As per the Daily Beast, Trump did not bring up the subject of inflation again during the meeting after being sidetracked by Vance’s apparel.
In February, inflation increased by 2.8%, which is slightly below forecasts. However, the price of eggs went higher by 58.8% compared to 2024. Experts have warned that the situation may become worse because of Trump’s trade wars with Canada, China, and Mexico.
